Definition of musical instruments
A musical instrument is a
device created or adapted for the purpose of making musical sounds. In
principle, any object that produces sound can serve as a musical instrument—it is through
purpose that the object becomes a musical instrument.
Any of various devices or contrivances that can be used to produce
musical tones or sounds
An object used for producing musical sounds, for example a piano or a
drum

Definition of music
An art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions insignificant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody,harmony, and color.
An
often-cited definition of music, coined by Edgard
Varèse,
is that it is "organized sound" (Goldman 1961, 133).
The
art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and
evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre.
The science or
art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination, and in temporal
relationships to produce a composition having unity and continuity
Vocal,
instrumental, or mechanical sounds having rhythm, melody, or harmony
The art and
science of combining vocal or instrumental sounds or tones in varying melody,
harmony, rhythm, and timbre, esp. so as to form structurally complete and
emotionally expressive compositions.
